Social connection, environmental awareness, and inclusion were just a few of the important themes of the first Garden Party, organized by Federico II University on May 27 at the Botanical Garden. This event was a product of collaboration between Federico II’s Language Center, the CLA; SInAPSi, a student resource group; and the SULIEIA project. The goal of the event was to rediscover – through a rich and varied program – values of inclusion, gender equality, and intercultural dialogue.
The morning began at the SInAPSi Center headquarters – located inside the Botanical Garden – and included institutional greetings from the Director of the SInAPSi association, Prof. Maria Francesca Freda; and Prof. Valeria Costantino, coordinator of the SULIEIA project (Supporting Universities in digital transition, educational Innovation, & environment protection, fostering the Launch of Italian Educational Institutions Abroad).
A key aspect of the program was the announcement of the launch of SInAPSi International, a space entirely dedicated to student resources in the domain of psychological well-being targeted specifically towards international students.
Also featured was a presentation by documentary photographer Salvatore Esposito, who – through the images of the exhibition “Photography in Research” (sulieia.it) – illustrated the effects of climate change on community life.
Following that, in the welcoming outdoor space, socialization and team-building activities were orchestrated by Dr. Anna Baldan from the University Language Center (CLA), and Dr. Lucas Di Cerbo, a SULIEIA scholarship fellow.
After a coffee break, Italian and international students concluded the day with a guided tour of the Royal Botanical Garden, led by its director, Dr. Paolo Caputo, rediscovering the joy of walking in nature while reflecting on the importance of green care, sustainability, and biodiversity.
Socialità, ambiente, inclusione. Sono solo alcuni degli importanti temi trattati durante il primo Garden Party organizzato dalla Federico II il 27 maggio all’Orto Botanico: un evento nato dalla sinergia tra Centro Linguistico, SlnAPSi e progetto SULIEIA e che ha come obiettivo quello di riscoprire – attraverso un programma ricco e variegato – i valori dell’inclusione, dell’uguaglianza di genere e del dialogo tra culture.
La mattinata si apre nella sede del Centro SlnAPSi – sita all’interno dell’Orto Botanico – SInAPSI Factory, con i saluti istituzionali della Direttrice, la prof.ssa Maria Francesca Freda e della prof.ssa Valeria Costantino, coordinatrice del progetto SULIEIA (Supporting Universities in digital transition, educational Innovation, & environment protection, fostering the Launch of Italian Educational Institutions Abroad).
Questa sarà l’occasione per comunicare l’avvio delle attività di SInAPSi International, uno spazio interamente dedicato alle attività psicologiche. Gli studenti e le studentesse potranno partecipare a incontri di gruppo finalizzati a discutere della loro esperienza, in un contesto internazionale ed inclusivo.
L’evento continua con l’intervento del fotografo documentarista Salvatore Esposito, che – attraverso gli scatti della mostra “Photography in Research” (sulieia.it) – testimonia gli effetti del cambiamento climatico sulla vita delle comunità.
A seguire, nell’accogliente spazio esterno, si procede con le attività di socializzazione e di team building, curate dalla dott.ssa Anna Baldan del Centro Linguistico di Ateneo (CLA), e dal dott. Lucas Di Cerbo, borsista SULIEIA.
Dopo la pausa caffè gli studenti italiani e stranieri – principali destinatari della manifestazione – concludono in bellezza, con una visita guidata del Real Orto Botanico, coordinata dal direttore, dott. Paolo Caputo, per riscoprire il piacere di passeggiare nella natura, non trascurando i temi della cura del verde, della sostenibilità e della biodiversità.
Un’occasione per socializzare, parlare di tematiche importanti, trascorrendo una mattinata piacevole, all’insegna del verde e della condivisione.
