Federico II as part of the European University Network Aurora

Federico II has joined the Aurora University Network, a network of European Universities founded in 2016 around the common mission of combining quality research with educational innovation and social impact. The inspiring principle of the activities of this network is that teaching, research and the ability to have a social impact are inseparable and equally necessary to respond to the great challenges of the present day.

Aurora includes the Université Grenoble Alpes, the Vrije Universitäat of Amsterdam, the University of Iceland, the Universities of East Anglia, Duisburg-Essen, Antwerp, Aberdeen and the Rovira i Virgili University of Tarragona.

In this network working groups on topics and areas such as: Sustainable development Goals Analysis; Open educational resources; Mobility programmes; Inclusive Internationalisation; Aurora diversity and equality (https://aurora-network.global/what-we-do/projects/). Shortly, groups will start to define a system of joint library services, to build projects dedicated to short mobility, international internships, international doctorates.

Membership of the university network is the result of the recognition of Federico II’s scientific and social role in connecting the Campania region to Europe and the world. This participation confirms the University’s commitment to strengthen and expand its international position, to consolidate its capacity for innovation and social impact, to support quality research and teaching. It is also an opportunity to share Federico II’s activities in a university network whose priority areas of initiative are diversity and inclusion, the social impact of research, innovation in teaching and learning, environmental sustainability, and internationalization.

All initiatives at Aurora involve the active and direct involvement of the entire university community, starting with the students, both in the implementation and in the planning of the various activities. In the coming weeks, a presentation of the Network to the University and its community will be organized.
